Georges St-Pierre Confirms He’s In Comeback Talks With The UFC
GSP confirmed that he’s been in talks with the UFC and an official announcement could come in the coming weeks or months. The hold up is due to contract disagreements, likely having to do with sponsorship because GSP’s previous deal was before Reebok’s dominance of advertising on fighters in the sport.
Let the speculation begin on who he’s going to fight first. Will it be Robbie Lawler, who has said he’d KO GSP if he comes back. Or will it be a super fight between two fighters well past their prime against Anderson Silva? Both of those fights would slide in nicely on the already stacked UFC 200 card. Or would it be against Conor McGregor, who was rumored to be GSP’s opponent before Nick Diaz was slotted in as a replacement for Rafael Dos Anjos? GSP was at the fight between McGregor and Diaz, but not to size up McGregor for a future fight, he told RDS. Rather, GSP said he’d planned to attend to pay his respects to ‘Notorious’ if he became the first to hold two titles in two weight categories, but Diaz spoiled the show.
